Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced its PES 2012 title will be present at Sony and PlayStation’s ‘Das Stadion’ experience at this year’s UEFA Champions Festival in Munich - a four-day Fan Festival celebrating Europe’s greatest club football competition.
The UEFA Champions Festival will be held in Munich’s Olympia Park and runs from May 16th-19th 2012 and will be a showcase of the UEFA Champions League and its partners. It’s here that PES 2012 will kick in to UEFA Champions League mode using ‘Das Stadion’ as a platform for its knockout tournament with an opportunity to win tickets to the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final.
KONAMI, in conjunction with PlayStation®, will initially run qualifying competitions throughout April in seven countries – Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Portugal – to find seven champions who will be flown to Munich for a knock-out competition. These games will be contested at the UEFA Champions Festival, with the final played at the floating pitch at Olympic Park, and broadcast across the festival. The final will be played on Saturday the 19th, and the lucky winner and their guest will be given tickets, courtesy of PlayStation® to watch the UEFA Champions League Final that night. These tickets have completely sold out, and are hugely sought after.“KONAMI is delighted to be collaborating with PlayStation® and UEFA again at the UEFA Champions Festival, and to further strengthen our ties with such an integral part of PES 2012,” commented Martin Schneider, General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “PES 2012 is the only game to feature the UEFA Champions League and the game will form a key attraction across the four-day event with one lucky winner and their guest walking away with tickets to the final, which are no longer available via general sale.”
