Global interactive games publisher Infogrames closed out another stellar week on the PC games sales charts, claiming five of the Top 10 titles for the week ended December 1, 2001. According to leading market information provider NPD Techworld, Infogrames’ Backyard Basketball took the #4 slot, Survivor: The Interactive Game earned the #5 position, RollerCoaster Tycoon grabbed #6, Sid Meier’s Civilization III ranked #9, and Backyard Football 2002 closed out the group at #10. Rounding out the Top 20 were Infogrames’ Backyard Baseball 2001 (#13), RollerCoaster Tycoon Loopy Landscapes (#15), and the Thomas & Friends Railway Adventures CD-ROM Playset (#17).

“With PC games sales accounting for one-third of all entertainment software revenue, maintaining a strong position in this category is something we take quite seriously,” commented Wim Stocks, Senior Vice President, Sales and Distribution for Infogrames, Inc. “We knew Survivor and Civilization III would be hits, and RollerCoaster Tycoon has been unstoppable. But the Backyard franchise has surpassed our wildest expectations, and shows no sign of weakening anytime soon. All in all, we’ve got quite a powerful line-up.”

These rankings mark the fourth consecutive week Backyard Basketball has appeared in the Top 10; the second consecutive Top 10 showing for Survivor: The Interactive Game; Sid Meier’s Civilization III’s fifth consecutive Top 10 appearance since debuting at #1; and yet another Top 10 finish for RollerCoaster Tycoon, which has been rooted in the Top 10 for all but one week since its release in 1999.
