Hold on to your hems Kimono-wearers as 3DO Europe has announced the release of GoDai: Elemental Force, a fast-paced, whirlwind of a game for PS2 in November 2001.
Featuring the four traditional spiritual elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water, GoDai: Elemental Force is set across 16 breathtaking campaign levels from the Land of the Rising Sun and will offer budding Ninjas the chance to defend their honour with a whole host of expertly tempered and extremely sharp weapons.
GoDai: Elemental Force revolves around a mystical plot of guardian elements, magic, honour and the good old fashioned cut and thrust of the ancient marshal art of the Ninja. Players assume the role of Hiro, a young Sukoto trainee, sworn to protect and defend using Sukoto Ninjitsu, a form of combat based upon the four elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. There is also a fifth element, ‘Ku’ or void, which must be avoided by Hiro at all costs if he is to become a true Sukoto Warrior.
On top of a galloping game engine, GoDai: Elemental Force has mounted a razor sharp combat system that skilfully blends hand-to-hand, sword and projectile-based combat with an innovative 360 degree ‘KinetiCam’ cinematic camera system. The weapons available to this fearless warrior cover all the Ninja favourites including Katana Blades, Twin Blades, the Bladed Spear, Throwing Spikes, Shuriken Stars, Smoke Bombs and Elemental Magic.
The killer chop in this Japanese epic is the multiplayer option which includes eight types of gameplay, guaranteed to have players beating seven shades of sushi out of each other. Furthermore, all-new weather and environmental effects have been added to the mix such as rain, fog, the ‘Pool of Light’, torches and fire pits, just to add that all important touch of elemental authenticity. Nice touch.
GoDai: Elemental Force will be published for PS2 by 3DO Europe in November 2001.
