BBC Multimedia's Tweenies - Ready to Play PC CD ROM has scooped the Gold Award in the Electronic and Multimedia category of the Good Toy Awards in London. Following on from the title's Gold Awards in both the BIMA Awards 2000 and the Right Start Best Toy Awards 2000, this third gold win firmly cements the title's reputation as a high-quality children's product that is not only educational but also lots of fun to play.

Offering hours of interactive fun and supporting the National Curriculum Key Stage One in the areas of English, Art, Maths and IT, the CD-ROM illustrates BBC Multimedia's strong ongoing performance in children's software publishing.

Tweenies - Ready to Play was released in April 2000 and went straight to number one in the children's chart. In the Annual Sales Chart for the year 2000, Chart Track rated Tweenies - Ready to Play as the top selling Children's CD-ROM title for the year. Fighting off competition from brands such as Pokemon, this is an achievement of which BBC Multimedia is understandably proud. Well over a year since its release, the title has not dipped out of the top three places.

Dave Lee, Director of BBC Multimedia comments: "I'm delighted that the title has picked up a third Gold. Not only has Tweenies - Ready to Play been a commercial success from the first week of release, but the awards that the title has won also illustrate the high quality of the product, one that is fully worthy of the success and strength of the Tweenies brand."

A second Tweenies title - Tweenies - Game Time is available in the shops now on PlayStation. Third and fourth interactive Tweenies titles are scheduled for release in October 2001.
