Evil Lurks In Konami's Castlevania: Circle Of The Moon For Gba
Konami of America announced today that Castlevania: Circle of the Moon will be a key launch title for Nintendo's highly anticipated handheld videogame system Game Boy Advance. The game and system are set to release in North America in June 2001 for a suggested retail price of $39.99.

"The Castlevania series has been phenomenally popular over the years. We think gamers will be thrilled by the superb quality of this all-new version," said Chris Garske, Konami's VP of Marketing. "Mario Club, Nintendo's internal product evaluation team in Japan, gave Castlevania a 97%, the highest score ever given to a third-party game. We feel this speaks very highly of the game's quality."

Castlevania explodes onto the Game Boy Advance with super clean graphics and innovative features, specifically designed for the Game Boy Advance. Players will use an arsenal of weapons including a whip and magic items to combat Dracula and destroy his minions of evil. Additionally, in-game action cards and attribute cards can be combined to create over 80 unique spell effects ranging from fire whips to ice blizzards. There are also summon attacks and sub weapons to choose from as the player progresses through Dracula's vast castle. The game has not yet been rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB).

Castlevania was first introduced in the US in 1987 on the Nintendo Entertainment System where it was a huge hit. The franchise has maintained it's popularity with audiences over the years, with versions on the Super NES®, Game Boy®, Sega Genesis, Nintendo® 64, and the Sony PlayStation.
