Activision announced today that the company will debut Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x for the Xbox video game system at its booth #946 in the South Hall at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Activision currently has more than 12 games in various stages of planning and development for the Xbox.
“Activision is eagerly anticipating the upcoming launch of Xbox,” states Larry Goldberg, executive vice president of Activision Studios. “We have a number of teams deep in development on several exciting titles for the platform and look forward to showcasing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x at this year’s show.”
“Tony Hawk on the Xbox is a combination that I am absolutely losing my mind over,” said J Allard, General Manger, Xbox Platform. “I can’t wait to load my own soundtrack onto the hard disk and start pulling some insane tricks. This game really is a groundbreaking title, and the version that Activision is putting together specifically for the Xbox is so over the top that it will blow gamers away!”
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x is being designed to take full advantage of the technical capabilities of Xbox, as well as continuing the standard of quality for which the brand is known. The game will feature the franchise’s signature gameplay, intuitive controls, all of the levels from both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 and the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, in addition to more populated environments, brand new levels, realistic special effects and smoother lifelike animations. The inclusion of system link gameplay will further bring the skateboarding experience to life. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x is expected to be available this fall.
