The 3DO Company today announced that New World Computing, a division of The 3DO Company, is developing the Heroes of Might and Magic IV game, the next instalment in the best-selling, critically acclaimed Heroes family of games. The Heroes of Might and Magic IV game is expected to release this Fall.
The Heroes of Might and Magic IV game combines the proven award-winning gameplay of the Heroes line with an all-new game engine. Like its predecessors, Heroes IV showcases highly detailed fantasy worlds in a battle for territory and resources. Players will command armies comprised of skillful heroes and fantastic creatures, collect vital resources and artefacts, as well as fight enemies and capture towns. Strategic planning and tactical cunning are instrumental in your goal to be undisputed ruler of the new world.
Last year the Heroes of Might and Magic II game was named to the Computer Gaming World magazine Hall of Fame. Over the past few years, the games have garnered several perfect-score reviews and numerous awards. Jon van Caneghem, founder and president of New World Computing, invented the Might and Magic universe in 1984. Since then, the games have sold over 4.5 million units worldwide.
