The countdown is on and, with three weeks to go before the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, Ubi Soft Entertainment announced today that it is laying its bets on five heavy-hitting titles: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Disney’s Tarzan , Rayman M, Myst III: Exile and Batman: Vengeance as the focus of its 2001 E3 presentation. Part of the host of never before seen titles that will debut at the E3, these products will be spotlighted as the Ubi Soft "brands to watch" in the 1000m² booth.
The Ubi Soft booth, #624 in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, promises to be a key address this year, both in terms of quality and quantity—Ubi Soft is now home to the masterful line-up of Red Storm games like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Covert Ops Essentials and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, long-respected brands like Chessmaster and Pool of Radiance from GAME Studios, the former entertainment division of TLC, and the Blue Byte catalogue of hits including The Settlers Series.
"Unleash the Player in You" will be the motto on everyone’s mind as they visit the Ubi Soft booth at the E3 this year, and in keeping with this idea, the stand includes 65 playing stations, allowing every visitor to discover their playful side on a game that suits their tastes, whether they are into action, adventure, strategy, or sports games.
Also new this year: Ubi Soft will keep everyone in the game with a special event website designed for and dedicated to Ubi Soft at the E3. The site can be found at www.ubisoft.com/e3-2001 and includes a map of the booth and the possibility to take a virtual tour, a live webcam which will provide access to onsite happenings, and a ‘behind-the-scenes in L.A. page’ covering action related to the E3, but which takes place after hours and outside the convention center. The site will be constantly updated and will also serve as the address for several exclusive announcements, which will be made public during the expo.
Yves Guillemot, the President and CEO of Ubi Soft, stated : "We wanted to have a big presence at E3 because this year is going to be a big year for us. If you are interested in games—as a gamer, a hobbyist, an industry partner, a buyer, or an investor—there will be one place to be during E3: The Ubi Soft booth." When asked to elaborate, Guillemot added only " The gaming industry is about seeing and doing more than describing, so I’ll let the booth and the products on it speak for themselves."
Ubi Soft has indeed unleashed the player!
