3DO Europe has announced the release of Army Men Advance for the forthcoming Game Boy Advance in time for the format release on June 22nd 2001. This handheld epic will combine arcade fun with Nintendo’s newly enhanced graphics and processor speeds to guarantee plastic explosive action.

In the teeny tiny world of plastic soldiers, there remains an ongoing battle between good and evil. The Green army continuously strives for world peace and many other green issues, while the Tan Army spitefully battles for global domination of everything plastic and, quite frankly, don’t give a damn about greenhouse gases or the Ozone layer.

“Sarge and Vikki are very pleased to be featured on a launch title for the Game Boy Advance”, commented Rebecca Knowles, European Brand Manager, 3DO Europe. “The new format offers the perfect medium for them to show off their tan-trashing skills.”

Currently being developed by Glasgow-based DC Studios, Army Men Advance will feature seventeen enormous environments and sub levels to explore as either Bravo Company leader Sarge or ace reporter Vikki. Players can even control, and destroy, vehicles such as tanks and boats as well as the usual array of Army Men weapons.

In this newest chapter, Plastro is back again and has a sinister plot designed for Green Destruction. It’s up to Sarge, the mighty hero of the Green army, to uncover the Tan’s latest meddling schemes. The only way Sarge can succeed is to follow the Tan Army back and forth through Portals between the real world and the plastic world, while keeping his own troops out of trouble.

3DO Europe will publish Army Men Advance for Game Boy Advance in June 2001.
