New European Release Date For Myst 3
Ubi Soft Entertainment and Presto Studios are proud to unveil the next chapter in the critically acclaimed Myst saga - Myst III: Exile.
Drawing on the rich history of the series and new emerging technology, the eagerly awaited Myst III: Exile represents not just a continuation, but a true evolution of the immensely successful series.
Since it's seminal release in 1993, Myst and its sequel Riven have become cornerstones in computer gaming earning an unparalleled recognition and audience that goes way beyond hardcore gamers. To date, both games have produced sales in excess 10 million units worldwide, with the original remaining as popular as ever some 7 years after release!
The huge success and wide appeal of the Myst series is understandable. Both Myst and Riven were astounding gaming achievements featuring one of the most fascinating universe ever seen in a video game. These games are visually stunning, have a compelling story and appeal to casual and even 'non' gamers. In essence, Myst was designed, so playing it neither required a super computer system and lightning reactions, but patience, good sense and an appreciation of a game possessing intrinsic depth and artistic creativity.
Building on the surreal style of Myst and Riven, Myst III : Exile will feature five entirely new ages for players to explore and hours of new mysteries to uncover. The story introduces a new villain, played by Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) who comes from an Age that was destroyed by Sirrus and Achenar, Atrus and Catherine's two sons. Seeking revenge against the family for this crime, he has turned Atru's worlds into a staging ground for vengeance. How better to destroy a hated adversary, he believes, that to use his own creation against him ? Only by exploring the worlds and navigating their puzzles will the player learn the truth about the villain and confront this vengeful adversary successfully.
Developed by Presto Studios in San Diego, USA Myst III: Exile features and hours of new mysteries to uncover. The use of new technologies and an innovative navigation system will bring the Myst universe even more vividly to life for players.

A rich and compelling story extends the Myst mythology by weaving familiar characters and places into the game. The choices that the player makes in the game will drive the story onwards.
Bringing the pivotal new character to life is Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif who has an impressive acting portfolio including One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Murder in the First, and the forthcoming Lord of the Rings.
Players will find themselves seduced by and immersed in these fascinating worlds, as completely new ambient and environment effects surround them. Players will experience as day changes to night, warming sun turns to drizzling rain, grass and trees sway in the wind, and animals forage nearby.
An original soundtrack accompanies different locations and parts of the story, drawing on experimental, orchestral and film scores for inspiration.

Presto's revolutionary propriety engine makes full use of both pre-rendered backgrounds and real-time 3D technology to drive Exile. The vivid worlds are beautifully pre-rendered, and real-time 3D seamlessly blend in when the players look around.
Introducing 5 fantastic Ages for players to discover and explore, each possessing a distinct theme and atmosphere - Tomahna is like a flowering oasis at the desert edge, J'Nanin is composed of towering granite cliffs and Voltaic is a dusty desolate place. Whilst the mechanical wonderland that is Amateria is juxtaposed by Edanna a living organic paradise of different flora and faunas.
