The Polish national team manager, Jerzy Engel, has become the latest in a long line of people associated with the professional game to lavish praise on the top-selling simulation.

In a recent interview in Poland’s biggest football magazine, Pilka Nozna, Engel spoke of his admiration for Championship Manager and described how prospective managers could benefit from playing the game. While discussing European management styles, Engel stated, “I recommend Championship Manager to all those who would like to become managers, one can learn a lot from this computer game. In Polish clubs, the managerial role has been going on in the same style as that in the British Isles.”

“Obviously we are delighted that Mr. Engel is among the legions of Champ Man’s famous fans. If only Walter Smith would play from time to time I might be a happier man!” says Paul Collyer, joint managing director of Sports Interactive. He added, “It is a testament to the quality of the foreign researchers we employ that the Polish leagues are accurately represented in Championship Manager Season 00/01.”

Championship Manager Season 00/01 is continuing to enjoy consistently high chart positions, having clocked up 212,720 ChartTrack sales since its release in October 2000.
