Champions Take Centre Stage For PDC World Championship Darts
Northamptonshire, UK. 28th September, 2006. Oxygen Interactive today announces the line-up of PDC Champions set to take to the stage for this Christmas season’s greatest first to format release: PDC World Championship Darts.

The first five Champions putting their names, faces and signature moves to Oxygen’s unrivalled sports title are: the legend that is Phil Taylor, double World Champion Dennis Priestly, crowd-pleasing favourite Wayne Mardle, rising star Mark Dudbridge and Dutch hero Raymond Van Barneveld.

The greatest player ever to throw a dart, Taylor – nicknamed ‘The Power’ - won a 13th World Championship title in January 2006 to further extend his incredible list of achievements. Twice the World Champion, Priestley, nicknamed ‘The Menace’, will go down in history as one of the legends of the game. Nicknamed ‘Hawaii 501’, Mardle is one of the sport’s greatest characters, with performances placing him in the top five of the world rankings. Dudbridge – nicknamed ‘Flash’ - has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame, culminating in his appearance in the Ladbrokes.com World Championship final in January 2005, where he battled valiantly only to become Phil Taylor's latest victim at the Circus Tavern. A new face to the PDC, van Barneveld, nicknamed ‘The Man’, joined up in February of this year. A four-time winner of the BDO World Championship, he is the greatest ever Dutch darts player and a hero in his homeland.

With this line-up of Champions, and more heroes still to be announced, the stage is set for this year’s most eagerly anticipated home-grown sports title.

Releasing alongside the staging of the 2007 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, the game offers players the thrill of an ‘as seen on TV’ darts experience. PDC World Championship Darts challenges players to take on the champions and bring victory home.

PDC World Championship Darts is due for release December 1, 2006.
