Microsoft to Attend Tokyo Game Show 2013
After skipping Tokyo Game Show in 2012, Microsoft seems ready to make a renewed push for the Asian market with its upcoming Xbox One console. The Japanese gaming organisation, the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association, has published a list of companies attending the 2013 expo, and Microsoft is one of them.

Xbox has traditionally struggled in Japan, with sales of the Xbox 360 consistently selling thousands of units fewer than Sony and Nintendo consoles each week in the country. While Microsoft has tried on occasion to woo Japanese gamers with exclusive domestic content, the console has never been able to shake off its shooter-friendly focus.

With a new console, Microsoft will naturally hope to turn its fortunes around in the country. Perhaps this will be the third time lucky?

The Xbox One will reportedly not launch in Japan at the same time as Europe or the US, with a release date scheduled for late 2014. But, if the company wants to make a good impression, it's good that it makes its case with Japanese consumers as early as it possibly can.
