Nintendo has answered the prayers of early Wii U adopters around the world today, as it announced two "significant" system updates in the Spring and Summer to make loading times of internal software much faster.
Satoru Iwata said in the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast that the system updates were directly prepared in response to requests from users, as well as to add some new features.
The updates will come in two stages, and aim to accomplish two things:
- Software will launch much faster
- Users will be able to return to the Wii U menu much faster
Iwata added that the Wii U Virtual Console service will officially launch after the release of the Spring system update.
