Heavy Rain Bathroom Scenes - Ethical

Wonder if this bit is just like in real life?
David Cage, the man behind Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain, has no shortage of them, and today he tweets about the comments regarding that bathroom scene.

"Heavy Rain's bathroom sequences are not gratuitous, but realistic, because real life has bathroom sequences," Cage wrote in his update. "My game portrays real life."

Apparently, the bathroom stuff is also 'ethical'... "My wife is a professional ethicist, so I had her double-check to make sure Heavy Rain's bathroom sequences were ethical", says Cage.

That's a comfort.

What's less comforting, given what's just happened to another literary classic, is this from Cage: "The Catcher in The Rye is one of the most eloquent, mature works in any language. And I wish to make it interactive."

Heavy Rain review will be up as soon as the embargo is down.

HTF does being a professional ethicist make you any more qualified than anyone else to comet on the ethics of a video game? Professional Ethics deals with how power and authority should be used in the service of society. How professionals like doctors and solicitors should use their privilege and influence benignly. WTF does this have to do with video games?
