Eidos Loses Out on Batman Arkham Asylum 2
"We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and fans of Batman around the world."

So says Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, the company that will be publishing the sequel to this year's highly-acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum because, well, it owns the rights. This leaves Square Enix-owned Eidos, which was responsible for the first game, out in the cold

Developer Rocksteady is still taking up the game creation task however, and Mr Tremblay is happy about this, saying, "Rocksteady has taken Batman to a new level in the videogame space and we are committed to delivering a sequel the fans will love."

There's already a trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum 2... see it below.

That's a bit bitchy, WB. Square Enix should look to make their own game too, but with Marvel via Rock Steady.

@Joji Marvel is owned by Disney now, and they will be transitioning to making the games themselves, or publishing them themselves, I should say.
