How do you take a golf game that's into its 14th iteration and keep things fresh? Well, with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 Electronic Arts has gone in a few different directions.

The headline is that players can now take on nine of the greatest golf legends of all time in the new 'Legends of the Majors' game mode. The players, hailing from across eras, include Seve Ballesteros, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino and Tiger Woods. Players can engage with such legendary golfing moments as hoisting the Claret Jug, breaking Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major victories and putting on the much-coveted Green Jacket. As you step onto historic courses you'll be able to soak up the atmosphere, with the inclusion of period-appropriate attire and equipement.

Of no less importance to many players will be the inclusion of the LPGA for the first time. Female-created golfers can now compete in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, with five playable LPGA golfers including 2012 Rolex Player of the Year Stacy Lewis.

Alongside new additions such as the historical legends and female golfers, of course, is a healthy roster of contemporary male golfers including Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Lexi Thompson and Paula Creamer, with the total roster including some 35 playable characters.

There are also more championship courses than we've seen before, including Augusta National Golf Club, the Old Course at St Andrews, Pinehurst No. 2 Restored and THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

Other improvements include 24 swing styles enabling you to better customise your golfer, night golfing and new dynamic stat tracking during multiplayer.
