With more new features then you can shake a stick at and all the official 2006 cars, drivers, teams, circuits and rules, Formula One 06 is a must for all motor racing buffs out there.
Formula One 06 features the ability to Network Play between PS2 and PSP. In layman's terms, this means players can now compete online across platforms to see who really is the fastest. Basically, if you own a PS2 version of the game and a friend owns the PSP version, it is possible to race against each other on the same circuit.
Obviously, Formula One 06 is all about speed, and being the first driver past the chequered flag. If you are a novice, switch on the improved driver and racing aids to race for fun or turn them off for a full length Grand Prix experience if you are something of a Formula One hotshot. Gamers can now race online in a complete 18-race season, reliving all the excitement and the competition of a full championship.
In both the PS2 and the PSP versions of the game, there are several new features that the Studio Liverpool development team have worked hard to achieve. There is a new extensive career mode where it is now possible to be the Chief Engineer of the F1 team selected - certainly a new aspect to the traditional career mode in Formula One games. As you progress through the career mode, it is possible to unlock and take the wheel of classic Formula One cars. Your progress, however, is made more difficult by a new pressure system in the game, where race incidents, collisions, different physics and AI mistakes are increasingly common.
