Summary

The legendary arcade classic Gauntlet is reborn with a new story and gameplay in Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. Wanting to undo the past, a powerful emperor is lost in his own dreams and nightmares. After being imprisoned by the emperor for two centuries, four immortal heroes - an Elf, a Warrior, a Wizard and a Valkyrie - are the only ones who can save his soul and bring peace back to their lawless world. Each of these characters has a troubled past, which the game details in various struggles and tragedies. The basic idea of the game is to defeat the masses of enemies which have overrun your world. You will face many different types of enemies, including skeletons very similar to those in the original Gauntlet. Each of the four playable characters brings their own set of abilities to the game and can unlock additional powers by collecting power-ups as well as other items along the way.

During the intense battles, you can choose to use your main weapon, or cast a magic spell to wipe your enemies out. The actual weapons you have, depend on which character you choose. For example, the Warrior has his trusty battle-axe, the Elf can shoot arrows and the Wizard conjures fireballs.

Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows also features multiplayer online battles for the first time. Graphically, the levels are beautifully designed with extremely detailed environments that really add to the overall gameplay. If you were a fan of the original arcade classic, then this game is a must-purchase.
