Summary

Duel Masters, among the purest of card-battling games in the genre, brings all the excitement of the collectable trading card game developed by Wizards of the Coast to PS2, with stunning 3D anime-style visuals that take their cue from the striking card art and the animated Duel Masters television series. In the main game, the player assumes the role of one of five distinct characters, each aligned with one of the five powerful Duel Masters civilisations - Fire, Nature, Water, Light and Darkness. As campaigns are played through as each of the different characters, the player learns about every one, eventually unveiling an underlying story before bringing all the characters together towards the end of the adventure for climactic finish.

As with the Duel Masters trading card game and Sempai Legends for Game Boy Advance, collecting the cards, building a powerful deck, and duelling are at the heart of the game. However, instead of being only turn-based, Duel Masters on PS2 offers the option of playing in real time, resulting in frantically-paced and action-packed gameplay rarely seen in such games. Throughout the game, the characters face many challenging opponents - some friendly, some less so - and visit a host of different locales before ending up at a great Tournament, the outcome of which will have implications reaching far beyond the 'normal' world!
