Summary

The Sim City series has come a long way since its original launch on PC. Sim City 2000, and then Sim City 3000 soon followed the original. The Sim City series has come a long way since its original launch on PC. Sim City 2000, and then Sim City 3000 soon followed the original. SC 3000’s success then fuelled launch of the World Edition, and finally the UK Edition, targeted mainly for a British audience. Now you have the chance to recreate some of your favourite cities, ranging from York to New York. The World’s your oyster.

New to the UK version of the game is a whole new building set, based on British landmarks and architecture. This makes it much easier to recreate the realism of your hometown, whereever it may be. In addition to these extras, there is a new architect tool, whereby you can build your own Millennium Dome, Canary Wharf, or any other landmark you may be familiar with. There are 95 landmarks already built into the game, so choose carefully. Disasters make another appearance, with the inclusion of deadly toxic clouds and space junk. Veterans of the series can start a disaster to increase the challenge if they feel confident enough. There are 14 scenarios to contend with, and customisable terrain for the ideal city.

Other than the UK specific features, there isn’t much difference from the original Sim City 3000. Maniacs and veterans of the series, however, will make this a necessary purchase, regardless.
