Is it 2013 yet? Yes? Good. Because we're at the end of the road here. This is the SPOnG Zeitgeist, in which we take you on a quick tour of what's been attracting the most attention on the Mighty SPOnG Database.
The big one! The very most trafficked games on SPOnG from the year of our lord Galactus 2012. And hey, look, it turns out that SPOnG readers – the sort that pore over game data and images, anyway – are a right bunch of jocks.
It's actually a little embarrassing, because our top three is exactly the same as the top three in the sports category. What do you say about that? Except, of course, 'you're a right bunch of jocks'. But we covered that.
It's a very convincing win for sports games, too. PES 2013 actually has nearly three times as many hits as London 2012, and well over four times as many as the nearest non-sports rival, Justice League Heroes.
However, despite the disparity in popularity between FIFA and PES (though not so much in quality – see Dave's reviews here and here) there's only a relative hair's-breadth between them.
The Top 10 in full...
FIFA 13 (Xbox 360, PC, PS3, Wii, PSP, PSVita, PS2, 3DS, Wii U)
PES 2013 (Xbox 360, 3DS, Wii, PC, PSP, PS3, PS2)
