Miyamoto IP and Kid Icarus for E3
We have many kinds of irritation in our lives. Never being able to find the nail clippers, raccoons smashing up our bins, the endless warring of mankind for the benefit of the rich. But none of these things compare to the endless fantasy rumourings of the Nintendo blogs that have sprung up like the most horrible weeds in recent months.

This being the case, you'd be forgiven for thinking that there have been hundreds of legitimate rumours surfacing of late. Virtual reality headsets, projector add-ons, endless games, launch dates, hardware revisions. All of it, the entirety of what you might have been unfortunate enough to read, is fantasy, the self-pollinating collective dream of a mass of bored and lonely teenagers with free blogger software and access to the Internet. We pride ourselves on covering rumours based on people in the know talking to ourselves or others in the industry. This kind of rumour has absolute grounding as with this week's Ridge Racer 7 news.

So with this in mind, we're pleased to inform you that this year's E3 looks set to show some interesting Revolution IP, the first being a new game from Shigeru Miyamoto. From what we can gather from our press colleagues, Pikmin Revolution is a cert, though its showing at E3 cannot be confirmed. Miyamoto will however, show the world a new game from his ever-fertile brain. We cannot elaborate on what Nintendo is going to reveal, simply because we - nor anyone we know involved with Nintendo - knows at this point. But keep an eye out for a big new game that will be playable at E3.

The next little gem we have is the belief amongst trusted Japanese press sources that Nintendo will reveal a new Kid Icarus game for Revolution at E3. We have no other details at time of going to press, other than several sources we have worked with on major Nintendo news in the past indicate to us that this classic NES platformer will be revived in a few weeks.

As ever, expect updates on these pages as soon as we get them.

*lets out a scream*

E3 is going to be really good. I think that Nintendo is going to own it by the sounds of things....

Congrats Spong on setting the Internet alight with speculation...again.

Kid Icarus... hmmm... most rumours are pointing that if Nintendo is making a Kid Icarus game... they're going to drop the Kid part and turn him into the angel of death or something with a flaming sword and s**t... which could get fun...

Offcourse, those rumours do originate from all those blogs made by people with too much time on their hands.

The surge of rumours seemed to come around the time of April Fool's Day. What a joke, because all it does is make those sites lose credibility, and wastes my time.

Pilotwings is what I must be looking forward to most. It might have been a new Mario game, but I'm skeptical nowadays, after the Gamecube Mario games. Mario Sunshine was good, but I was the only person in the whole world who thought so, and they could have done with a real Mario game as well.

I suppose the Gamecube really was meant to be like it was, to fill in the gap between then and now. It was a bit strange that Nintendo were going on about reaching the limit in graphics, when the Gamecube's graphics were mostly quite basic.

Hopefully, the reason the Gamecube only had a few proper big franchise games was that they were working on them being even better, for the next generation, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Kid Icarus with attitude? Why not give the Heavens a gritty, urban style, where you need to earn the 'respec' of the 'hoods mixed-race Gods?

You mean Grand Theft Halo: The war in Heaven? Coming next year to a next-gen console near you!

Caught between the Angels and the Devils, Icarus (or Ike to his homies) has to carve out his own turf, starting in limbo and progressing through Hell to Heaven then, betrayed by an alliance of God and the Devil, Ike is locked in purgatory for a few eons. Eventually, he busts out and is lusting for revenge.

Hey, someone get Rockstar on the phone, I've got a pitch for them!

That would be truly awful. Must everything be a template of Boyz N the Hood or GTA?

This is what we need, a Nintendo IP that hasn't been used in ages and need one so bad that many don't know of it's existence.

I think if we get a sweet adventure in a zelda mold with a ancient greek twist this will give Nintendo a very good alternative to the licenses it anyways uses. There's also still a lot more they can play with.

We don't need another Mario game here, what's needed is some thing like God of War. Speakiing of greek advanetures, Kid Icarus would be welcome back since ancient games are the current thing.. Will it be as gory as God of War?

It seems the Icarus rumor have been adding weight, it seems Retro is working on it or that one Capcom team that was working on that Phoenix game for the GC (but got canned).

Also, it seems the angel of death thing is more likeable then the "Kid" thing.
