Gran Turismo Bikes – New Details and Gameplay Video
Sony Computer Entertainment in the US has released some fresh details of the enthralling new racer from Gran Turismo-famed Polyphony Digital, Tourist Trophy.

The game is due to ship in the US in spring of next year and features a roster of 80 bikes from Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and BMW racing on 35 international courses, lifted of course from the coded tarmac of Gran Turismo 4.

Two gameplay modes are offered: Arcade Mode, delivering pick up and play races for one or two players, and the more in-depth Challenge Mode. Unsurprisingly, the Challenge Mode mirrors Gran Turismo Mode from the GT series, requiring players to work through a race career to earn access to bigger, faster cycles. Engine classes go from 250CC right up to a monster 1,500CC, though as to why anyone would opt to race such a cumbersome bike is beyond us.

A real deal of attention will be lavished upon your rider’s outfits, with licensed leathers and helmets being offered. The narcissism continues with Snapshot Mode, whereupon you can photograph your rider and bike and print out photographs a la GT4.

Unfortunately, Polyphony hasn’t yet explained how crashes will work in Tourist Trophy, something that’s been asked but remained unanswered since the game’s announcement.
