What welcome awaits 360 in the East?
Last week we brought you news that this month will see an Xbox event in Tokyo that will be, in the words of Yoshihiro Maruyama, ‘a product unveiling on the scale of E3’.

Well, the date has been announced, and this exciting event is going to take place on July 25 at 1:30pm, or just as SPOnG is getting up and out of its bed. Japanese gamers have remained staunchly indifferent to the first Xbox throughout its lifespan, and it’s apparent that strong support in Japan is a key part of Microsoft’s mission for world domination. You can expect to see more Mistwalker footage, but if Microsoft really wants to whet appetites in Japan, it’ll have to really pull out the big guns. What could it have up its sleeve?

That’s all for now. Check back here at SPOnG for reports of what’s happening over there on the 25th. And of course, if anything should leak between now and then, you know where to find it…

Well I'll be busy watching the footy. I kind of want MS to do well now because I'd love to play more japanese gamers on Xbox Live. Only thing is too much uptake might leave Nintendo in the cold, something I don't wanna see happen.

Let them decide for themselves, it has to be said 360 has some tempting chips on it's plate.
