During the recent Xbox show (formerly known as the Consumer Electronics show) in Las Vegas, it was revealed that an enhanced version of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 was well into development at Activision. The main enhancement, aside from the natural graphical improvements that the platform will bring to the franchise, is the planned online capability Activision and Microsoft plan to deliver. The multiplayer modes from Tony Hawk 2 on the PlayStation will be expanded and integrated with dedicated THPS2X servers enabling players to turn up and wait for a challenge.
There is also talk of a world leader-board system with regular tournament events held on the servers. This will also include the ability to allow others to watch the events from a virtual grandstand.
