Uhhh.. No actually.. what I mean is that this news was posted on IGN a good 2 days ago, almost every single new article spong posts is a rehash of something that was posted on IGN first days before. Even the E3 list was acknowledged as being directly taken from IGN’s site, admittedly by the staff at spong. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy both sites, but its true

uhhhh, no actually what you are doing is called back peddling, which is rather sad. fact is you got all pissed off and shot your mouth off without thinkign it through (which i have certainly been guilty of) and now that you are being called on it you are changing your story rather than admiting fault (ill gladly admit to being wrong about something, it means i just learned somethign new, learning is good). you coudl atleast throw the word "Sorry" in there somewhere.



as was discussed before, the difference is usually due to the time chnage and the fact that ign operates at the same time as the game publishers so its more likely they would be in the office when it occurs. Plus spong isnt taking any kick backs or handing out good reviews for exclusives.



so, they admit when they blatantly copy something, and you harp on them for it, and then acuse them of being deceptive, even though you sight an ocurence of them admiting to copying somethign when they do it.

But SPOnG's news piece was posted 2 days ago too. There could be a few hours between them, but not the gap you're insinuating.

Honestly, to me it just looks like Alienware. Nothing special, nothing new. If you ask me they could've cut down on the size of that green power light and maybe the system wouldn't look like its just a PC rehash.

There's not much Mac about it. For a start, it isn't see through, nor in garish pastel colours. It's also not chunky enough, ironically. It's also not like an Alienware machine, as it's not gloss nor base colours. It also lacks the massive vents. It looks more like Chieftec's cases, really. Or a Sky+ box, in the case of the front-on pic.

The whole point of this design is simple: to do what Sony have been trying all along and make it blend in with the rest of your setup.

Oh, and many sites had those pics up before IGN. Hell, I got handed a pretty similar image a week ago. It's just some people wait for confirmation before embarrassing themselves, Daily Mirror style, over fakes. Though I had been handed the pic and told "this is real!", I didn't just stick it on my scanner and put it up- I awaited confirmation from another source. Now I have it. It's good.

If your definition of peddling is sticking with what I said and cementing my opinion in the ground then yea.. but that’s not what it means, I NEVER rescinded my statement. I think the vast majority of what Spong reports as exclusive is in fact, not exclusive, I certainly don’t believe that’s always the case, I do see a few, such as the rumored rare launch game duo, and as I clearly stated, I like both websites, otherwise I obviously wouldn’t be reading spong. Its not a big deal, unless people like you blow it out of proportion, I was simply clarifying that I had read it first elsewhere for people like smelly who stated it was a spong exclusive, and then one of the writers for spong clarified that it wasn’t.. just like I thought, I never said it was an IGN exclusive either.. just saying I read it there first. This article is in no way an exclusive. The other user who replied to your message was right about the origiinal image coming from somethingawful.com. Unfortunately, you won't find the thread it is in because the board it is on is a members only board (well, you can see the thread if you feel like paying 10 dollars for an account). The picture was posted with a watermark that said "SA GAMES FORUM LOL" and the original poster decided to post an un-watermarked version so people could edit the picture and stuff. Needless to say, people jumped all over it, and now there are websites EVERYWHERE saying that they have the exclusive.

He\She's right. Spong again claims an exclusive that is not. It was on ourcolony first, then on Kotaku. Then Gametab picked it up. I know this because all the other sites claim correct credit, yet Spong never does give credit to other sites.

I have heard of three versions. 1) Made for the casual gamer and only uses memory cards. 2) Made for a more avid gamer and contains the 64 megabite hard drive 3) A fully functional computer for online users. Rumors have it that the third will be quite more expensive but will combine the console and computer together as a way to make it the centerpiece of your entertainment system. Everything right now is nothing but speculation though. We won't know till they show!

This image was not on ourcolony first either. The close-up of what appears to be the drive enclosure was on ourcolony, sure, but our story about that image mentioned that too.

The first mention of SPOnG and exclusive in this thread is from Smelly, who was most certainly using irony to imply that this wasn't a SPOnG exclusive (the slow hand clap points this out for the irony-impaired).

At no point has SPOnG claimed these pictures are an exclusive. We did mention in the Report: Microsoft Struggles to Regain Control After Leak Shock story that;

Obviously, we were scooped by SomethingAwful's forum poster, this happens.

When claim we have an exclusive, we put it in the headline of the news story. Check for that before trying to refute our claims.

I'd have gone for the other way around, personally. The 360 with it's several G5 processors (I think) and then the PS3 with it's PowerPC cell and the Revolution (probably) with it's single G5. After all Ninty aren't competing on power...

ok, so it doesnt sound angry, my bad, but it does sound like you are acusing them of blatantly copying news from ign (liek ign is the source of all worth whiel info), i have an insider acount on ign (comes with a free year subsciption to EGM) so i can assure you i always check ign, just as often as i check spong, and anyone who is payign attention, knows i am here waaaaay to freakin much. Spong has stories before ign just as often as ign has them first. (maybe even more) you are acusign them of copying them. I enjoy Ign, but most of what they do is s**t, i just like beign able to get all the highres vids, especially with E3 comming. Anyway, IGN sucks, they are slow to update with new info, they post liek 2 freaking articles per day per system, and if somebody wants to talk s**t about them thats fine and dandy, in my time here spong has been amazingly acurate and often times informed me of things i would not have known about otherwise. I dont know how many times i have gone and talked to some of my friends and mentione dthings i that i had rea dhere and my friends had no idea.

long story short forgive me if i get defensive, but i think your acusation is completly unfounded. infact, both ign and spong have dates ont here articles, why dont you go and make a list of all the time ign has beaten spong to the punch by "days".

Are you kidding me?! Still with no hardware specs, your gonna claim that the PS3 and Revolution are going to be UNDERPOWERED by a year old system. Even if the 360 is amazing, Sony and Nintendo are just going to go back and make their's more powerful. It's like all the fanboys who claim PS2's graphics are better than X-Box. Sorry, not possible.

The thing is that Sony and Nintendo will be designing their console now... with the same technology available that M$ has.

Prehaps the exception here is Sony, who can continue to develop their Cell processor, however Nintendo will def have access to the same tech as M$ have at the moment. Plus Nintendo want to sell consoles at a profit and keep talking about how power isn't defining.

This leads me to think that the Xbox 360 will have the best power, possibly on par with PS3, and Nintendo will have the least powerful console.

Finally, I expect a six month gap in-between the releases. Even if it was a year, the technology won't change radically during that time.

but my firend, was the 3d0 not a superior system to the porly designe jaguar? was the super famicon not more powerfull than the megadrive? (famicon came out in japan first and not in the us till after then genesis i believe)

also food for thought... i believe in raw processign powe the ps2 is capable of throwing around more triangles than a game cube can, the difference being that the game cube has buitl in textutre compression and shadders that alow aof of fancy texturing and things to go on without hitting the proccesor, allowing its games to look better.

not that i think the 360 will be stronger though, most rumors certainly point to the ps3 being on the level of charlse manson when it comes to rationalness (real word?). I do however think the 360 will be comparable or stronger than the revolution, as nintenod doesnt liek to loose moeny on systems and lieks to start at the lower price point, plus they have made several comments about how the next gen wont be about just graphical improvments, which leads me to believe they arent going to be out-doing anyone when it launches.

of course i woudl love for the 360 to be stronger and come out first, which woudl just make sony really look liek a bunch of chumps, but i dont think they are going to let that happen. DAMN i cant wait for E3!
