So what does the Xbox 360 look like? It looks like this! Yes, SPOnG can confirm with 100% certainty that this is the final design for the new Microsoft machine, with the console’s name now confirmed.
The images have been spewing forth over the past few hours from various European online outlets, all of which were fed by the specialist press. In what has to be seen as a complete European PR disaster, the MTV showing penned for mid next month has had its trump card flipped over for all to see.
The images hosted here show the final artwork and a single photograph showing what appears to be a removable 40GB hard disc drive, confirming speculation that mass storage will be an option as the 360 emerges.
All of which leaves us, and everyone else, wondering what the Xbox 360, well, what it does. SPOnG believes it a fair assumption that the unit will feature wireless controllers, given there’s no ports pictured. The small circle also looks like a wireless activity indicator light too. All good. Then we have what appears to be an IR port on the machine’s fascia, hinting at the unit’s multimedia future controlling the world’s music and movies.
To reiterate, SPOnG has had these images verified by an Xbox 360 publishing partner privy to Microsoft’s planning and we can confirm that they do show the final console design slated for unveiling next month.
We expect to bring you further details on the machine’s functionality in the coming weeks, so keep it locked and of course, don’t forget to tell us what you think in the forum below.
