The ladies’ man’s ladies’ man is coming to a PC and next generation console near you, but not for a year or so. Those tasteful types at Vivendi are bringing back – or should that be blinging back – Leisure Suit Larry in a completely new adventure dubbed Magna Cum Laude, a game in which developer High Voltage and publisher Vivendi introduce a different Larry to gamers - Larry Lovage – the nephew of the original series’ Larry Laffer.
As (un)lucky in love as his uncle, young Larry finds himself studying at community college. A virtual prisoner in his dorm, the infrequent occasions that he ventures outdoors to mix with the female sorority usually end in disaster. All the frustration Larry feels may be about to disappear however, when he discovers there’s a reality TV dating show visiting his college. Larry decides to get out there and look for the love of his life – or at least to get laid.
"Inspired by films like American Pie and There's Something About Mary, the game is packed full of outrageous humour and raucous gameplay," said Philip O'Neil, SVP Sales & Marketing, Vivendi Universal Games. "We have captured the distinctive style and feel of the original series, while taking the humour and visuals to a level that hasn't been seen before. With all these ingredients combined we are sure it will please old and new fans alike."
High Voltage producer Josh Van Veld said, ""Our team has been having a lot of fun bringing Leisure Suit Larry back. We're confident that Larry will make a huge splash when he comes to consoles and the PC next Fall."
