Speaking at the DICW 2003 show, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned some more snippets of information regarding the firm’s immediate plans.

Specifically talking about projects and work that never came to fruition, Miyamoto said that the version of Legend of Zelda for GameCube shown at SpaceWorld 2000 that was not cel-shaded, may be resurrected for a future Zelda project. He also mentioned that the engine developed for Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be re-used in the future for another game not in the Zelda series.

Miyamoto also stated that new games in the Mario Kart and Donkey Kong series are in development and will be shown at this year’s E3.

Then, bringing a touch of cynical cash-grabbery to the proceedings, Miyamoto said that a new version of Pokemon Stadium is in development, and for the first time, Nintendo is thinking of releasing two versions, separate Ruby and Sapphire releases, to correspond with the GBA title of the same name.
