According to reports surfacing this morning, Sammy president Hajime Satomi will head up the new merged enterprise when all is finalised later this year.
Although Sega’s 11 R&D studios will remain pretty much unchanged, it is interesting to see such a massive player as Sega essentially hand control, at least in terms of presidency, to Sammy.
Talking to Japanese press about the move, Satomi stated that the deal was still a long way from being complete, though the two sides expect to have everything settled by October of this year.
Sega’s Tetsu Kayama has been ominously quiet on the deal.
