Vice City award hiccup

Too violent to be displayed says gallery.

We recently brought you news that Rockstar’s romp-em-up Vice City has been nominated for a prestigious design award by the London Design Museum.

However, the company’s bid for the Designer of the Year prize has suffered a bit of a setback, as the game is not being shown alongside the other nominees.

“The museum has a responsibility toward our child visitors," said Libby Sellers, the curator of the exhibition. "Some of them are aged 5 or 6, and it was never our intention to highlight the sex and violence or graphic content of the games."

However, far from being a stick-in-the-mud, Libby proves she is a hardcore gamer. “I've never been so excited to just watch a video game, never mind playing it," she said. "It is really great to see all the details and feel the nuances. Playing it is even better!”

We’ll let you know if Vice City wins.
