In announcing its financials yesterday, Sony showed just how valuable its PlayStation brand has become. Indeed, the console is now responsible for generating a third of the firm's profit, equal to 71.7 billion yen.
This profitability was achieved even though game revenue accounted for only a sixth of Sony's total turnover.
What's more, the firm announced a management shake-up, with Ken Kutaragi, the great grandfather of all things PlayStation, taking on wider technological responsibilities.
