Zelda in 'selling like crazy' shocker

Wake that Wind!

It seems as though Nintendo has managed to awaken the wind within the Japanese gaming community, with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, proving massively popular in its first week on sale.

Having shipped 820,000 copies to Japanese retail, an impressive 407,700 were snapped up by eager GameCube owners.

Not too shabby. A Famitsu 40/40 score will no doubt have helped somewhat. We're still waiting for European details on Zelda. Release date, bonus packs and pre-order systems still remain a mystery. As soon as we find out, we'll let you know.
