According to a report from US research and analyst firm NGP Group, Microsoft is failing to win over potential console buyers, barely soaking up just 9% of the US video game market share.
Further research shows that with PSone and PS2 combined, Sony still has a 57% share of the US market with Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance taking 14% and GameCube just 7%.
Similar figures are expected to emerge from the European and Japanese territories.
But it’s not all doom and gloom for the Xbox. In related news, Microsoft announced sales of Halo: Combat Evolved had reached one million. Super sales figures for a fantastic game, no question. See today's full Halo story for more.
