Locust have always been a problem when it comes to growing crops in Africa, because, well, they like to eat - perhaps Xbox's Kinect can help though?Princeton ecologist Iain Counzin has been researching the insects' behaviour using computer-vision technology and the Xbox's motion-sensing camera. He's been trying to find out how they act when alone, and when grouped together as a swarm.
His research has interestingly unveiled that they swarm together to prevent them from eating each other - together though, they'll eat everything in their way.
