Indie developer Polytron has revealed that it is working on a sequel to the much-loved platformer, Fez. And its announcement seems to have attracted an unlikely fan in Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski. The original, created by Phil Fish, has sold over 200,000 copies since its release in April. The teaser trailer doesn't give much away, and the only detail on the
Polytron website is that Disasterpiece will be involved.
Bleszinski - who
courted controversy yesterday on Twitter when he defended bloated AAA game budgets in a strange attempt to attack used-game culture - seemed to think the world of Fish's latest announcement. It's almost as if there
is a way you can generate excitement, attention and quality gameplay experience for your game
without a multi-million dollar budget. Hmm.
"WTF [Phil Fish], you didn't tell us [about
Fez 2] in New Orleans!" Cliffy B
excitedly tweeted following the trailer's reveal. He probably didn't, because he didn't want any huge, dull explosions in it.
