Sony has announced that its PlayStation Plus service will be carried over to its upcoming PS4, with one slight change to the features locked behind it. According to a slide in the company's E3 press conference, it seems that online multiplayer will be restricted to paid subscribers going forward.
For "less than $5 per month", users can continue to have access to discounted games, cloud saves, automatic game updates, early access to beta programs, Instant Game Collection, and "immersive multiplayer online on PS4". This suggests that, while online multiplayer for PS3 will remain free, this will be a service sat behind the PS+ paywall.
In the same segment, Sony has announced that it will not require an online internet connection to allow users to play their games, nor will it restrict how users are able to trade in or use the games that they buy. Guess you've got to take the rough with the smooth. What do you think of this revelation?
