Remember when Namco Bandai producer Hideo Baba promised a "Tales of-filled year" a while ago? Well, if a new report is to be believed, you can expect one of those fillings to be a PS3 HD remaster of fan favourite, Tales of Symphonia. The acclaimed original, which saw a release on Nintendo Gamecube in the West (and a PS2 release, but only in Japan), was apparently teased to Spanish website
Koi-Nya by none other than Baba-san himself, who said that such a remaster would be "a representation of the dreams and hopes of the fans, who have long been wanting it."
According to the website, the so-called
Tales of Symphonia: Perfect Edition will also include a high definition remaster of
Wii sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World.
In an exclusive interview with SPOnG, Hideo Baba revealed that he felt that the Tales series suited the PlayStation family of platforms more than any other. Considering that the output of games recently have been tailored for the PS3, it would make sense that a
Symphonia remaster would be destined for Sony's console.
