PC Gamers Split Sides News: Blizzard has Diablo III Running on Console
Prepare for the sound of graphics cards to be thrown...

PC gamers the world over will be laughing out loud and some may even be rolling on the floor laughing at the news that Activision/Blizzard now has builds of Diablo III playing out on toy machines such as Xbox 360s and PS3s.
The news comes from the very mouths of Blizzard's chief creative officer Rob Pardo and Diablo III lead designer Jay Wilson who both confirmed the console news in an interview.
Pardo says, "We're still kind of exploring it. We've got builds up and running on it. We're hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we're not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it's looking pretty cool."
Jay Wilson then told hipster favourite, Polygon that, the company is "exploring console options."

This would be excellent news IF I could play the same characters on either platform. ie. Play my monk on my work PC at lunchtimes and on my PS3 in the evenings at home.
As the game's so reliant on an internet connection and the characters are all saved on Blizzard servers, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be able to do this.

I guess it depends on how much they change the game, are they making a straight port or going for an "arcade" version.
@miacid Considering the shape of D3 in general, I think I'd like to see an 'arcade' version a la the Shining Force NEO/EXA games.
