Crysis studio Crytek recently declared that it will be looking towards developing more free-to-play games in the future. It's not hard to see why, when you see the success that Warface has achieved in Eastern Europe. The freemium shooter has had over five million users registered in Russia alone. A colossal number! The developer also announced that the game recently received the Best Online Game prize in Russia's Runet Awards. Naturally, everyone involved is pretty chuffed with the outcome.
Vladimir Nikolsky, VP of
Warface's Russian publisher, Mail.Ru Group Game Division, said that "reaching the five million registered users mark speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of
Warface.
"With a combination of first-class visuals and gameplay that is second to none,
Warface stands out from the crowd and promises to attract even more attention from players in the future."
The vodka rounds are on Crytek! Smooth work guys, congratulations. The shooter is destined for a release in the West, courtesy of Trion Worlds, but no release date has yet been set for an official launch.
