Minecraft Gets Far Cry 3 Themed Mod Pack
If you needed any more proof as to the immense popularity of Mojang's build-a-thon Minecraft, maybe this will do the trick. Ubisoft has announced that it will be releasing a texture pack for the game, inspired by the Far Cry 3 universe. Yep. We're about to get some Rook Island up in here.

The pack, which will be released on PC for free on October 26, seems to do more than just make Minecraft look a little bit like Ubisoft's tropical thriller. There are modifications built into all elements of Notch's game, including tools and weapons.

50 Easter Eggs are hidden throughout this blocky representation of Far Cry 3, as well as Minecraft-style renditions of characters Vaas, Jason and Citra.

The mod pack is particularly significant as the officially-endorsed creation was not developed in-house - rather, it was all built by Minecraft enthusiast Michael Lambert. Axel Janssen and Yohann Delcourt were responsible for the textures.

If whispers are to be believed, this could be merely the start of many officially-endorsed mods for Minecraft. What else can we expect to see in the future? What do you reckon, readers?
