It looks like the Grand Theft Auto V hype train has finally started rolling, and is already picking up steam fast - US retailer GameStop has revealed that Rockstar is beginning to talk about the long-awaited sequel to journalists, while its UK arm has published what it seems to think is a release date for the game.GameStop UK's online shop carries a listing for
GTA V, with a launch date of Friday 1st March 2013. It could well be tentative though, as traditionally Rockstar's flagship sandbox games have had global launch dates. And global launch dates typically fall on Tuesdays, to coincide with US releases.
Meanwhile, news of Rockstar's willingness to talk to press came from
Game Informer, the GameStop-owned magazine. The publication confirmed that
GTA V will be the cover star for its next issue (December).
Now that Rockstar is clearly opening communication lines with press about the sequel, it shouldn't be too long before we start to learn what all the fuss is about.
Grand Theft Auto V? It's time.
