Cage: Beyond Will Send "Strong Signal" to Hollywood
Heavy Rain creator David Cage believes that the video game medium still has a lot of growing up to do before Hollywood actors will take it seriously. In a recent interview at Gamescom, he stated that his new project, Beyond: Two Souls, will "send interesting signals" to top acting talent.

"In Hollywood, many people still think that games are about shooting," he said. "Most actors have no interest in them. They don’t want to just be a face on an avatar who is shooting people. So there is still some interest in Hollywood for games, but they are still really cautious.

"[Beyond] is going to send a strong signal to the game industry, but also to Hollywood because of Ellen [Page's] involvement and the fact that she was so great during shooting. If the game is successful, andif her performance is seen as something that proved the quality of the experience, it’s going to be a signal to the industry that says ‘look, it’s possible to do games this way.’"

Yes please, Spong: keep promoting this shameless self-promoter's self-promotion. (And it'd be great if he could make a game that played like, ya know, a game.)*

Ugh.

*Waits for Fahrenheit fans to come crawling out of the woodwork.
