Microsoft: Xbox Live Real Money Prices an "Error"
Yesterday, Microsoft offered avatar items for XBLA game Hybrid at the non-Mircosoft-Points price of $1.99 and $2.99. Today, the company has said that the real-money pricing was "an error."

No, sadly you won't be able to spend your actual money on digital titles - at least, not yet. While Microsoft has insisted that it will be sticking with its Mickey Mouse currency, one has to ask why this incident, which is being reported as a glitch, occurred in the first place.

"Yesterday, a few avatar items appeared with an option to purchase with local currency, instead of Microsoft Points," reads a statement. "This display error doesn't signal a change in payment options, but rather an error in how the offers were configured in our services which resulted in an inconsistent experience. It is in the process of being resolved."
