Black Ops 2 "Will Change How You Think" About Multiplayer
We've not heard an awful lot about Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's multiplayer, but it's safe to say that they'll be rather comprehensive. Treyarch certainly seems to think so - the studio is boasting that its competitive modes, due to be formally announced tomorrow, "will forever change how you think about winning or losing." Ooh.

"In just 4 days, we reveal #BlackOps2MP. RT if you're ready to see Multiplayer in action," read a tweet on Activision's official Call of Duty feed. That was posted on Friday night, with a trailer expected to go live tomorrow - but game design director David Vonderhaar suggested that Treyarch will be saving its big news for Gamescom.

"If u could only play what we R playing right now," Vonderhaar writes. "Will 4ever change how u think about winning or losing. 10 days and the lid comes off."

Not long to go now until he proves to be right or not.

What needs to change is the community, just as much as the MP mechanics. So people like Liam above me here can no longer play M rayed titles. Then again that's more of a console/PC issue. The developers would have a hard time tracking age. Regardless it should be taken care of. Let the kid play they said, he'll have fun they said. Until he started spurting out every obscenity he could think of. The community is by far the largest retardation on the series. Innovation is also a problem, but this is a Call of Duty style game. I'll judge when it's out, but for now I'm skeptical.

Hopefully they make winning and losing count towards unlocks and leveling up more than just XP. I'm fine if with killwhores, but when they camp in the back of the map and don't help the team complete the objective at all it's really irritating.
