British legends of adrenaline-heavy racing games, Criterion, has announced at EA's E3 press conference that it will be reinventing another branch of the publisher's long-standing Need for Speed franchise. After its work on Hot Pursuit, the studio is taking its talents to remaking Most Wanted.
The game will be another stab at open-world racing, where players can "choose their own path to become the Most Wanted." Race tracks will have hidden gameplay, takedowns, friend challenges or simple cat-and-mouse scenarios with the police. So it's essentially a mix between Hot Pursuit and its Burnout franchise, then.
Criterion also announced its intentions to involve social networking in regards to connecting players. In addition to Autolog, challenges can be fired across a social network between friends, which will help net them Speed Points to take them up the Most Wanted list. Autolog 2 will include no lobbies or wait times, and will include recommendations to players to help them improve their racing skills.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted will release on Xbox 360, PS3, PlayStation Vita, PC, iOS and Android on 1st November.
