The long-drawn-out Infinity Ward drama has taken a rather interesting turn. It has been reported that Activision has paid out a cool $42 million to "the group representing former Infinity Ward head Vince West and Jason Zampella" - but the trial between the two will still go ahead as planned.
According to Gamasutra, the pay out was "determined as part of a review of the available evidence leading up to the trial" and definitely not "a settlement or an admission of guilt".
The $42m is in addition to an already-paid out $22m, but West and Zampella's group are seeking more, in a legal battle that is now more than two years old. The former Infinity Ward heads filed suit against their former publisher in March 2010, alleging unfair dismissal and unpaid royalties for Modern Warfare 2.
