Miyamoto and Iwata are going to Vegas!
Nintendo legends Shigeru Miyamoto and Satoru Iwata are booked to speak at the upcoming DICE (Design, Innovate, Create and Entertain) summit in Las Vegas of February 28th of next year.

Hosted by the American Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, the event will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel and will be a celebration of all things Interactive Entertainment.

Miyamoto is expected to speak on the evolution of gaming since his debut in the industry and a fresh-faced gardening obsessed designer putting the finishing touches to Donkey Kong for arcades. An integral pert of his speech will focus on the continuing success of the Mario series and its transformation into 3D. Nintendo effectively created the 3D platform-game and Miyamoto will talk candidly about how he and his teams coped with the jump from the 16-Bit SNES to the 64-Bit Nintendo 64. It is also expected that Miyamoto will reveal new details about both his current projects, Mario Sunshine and Legend of Zelda for GameCube.

Satoru Iwata, Director and General Manager of the Corporate Planning Division of Nintendo, is expected to focus on the business of modern gaming, giving an insight into the Japanese industry mentality. Iwata-san played a major role in bringing the Pokemon series to Nintendo and was the figure that commissioned the latest round of Kirby games.

We will bring you full coverage of the event next year.
