Xbox 360 sales fell nearly 50% year-on-year in the financial quarter ending March 31st.
Microsoft noted in its earnings report that it shipped 1.4 million consoles, compared to 2.7 million in the same period last year.
Xbox-related revenue dropped $584 million, or 33%, due largely to the drop in both console and Kinect sales. The company did note that the drop was offset in part by increased Xbox Live revenue compared to last year.
Microsoft also noted that the 360 has been the best-selling console in the US for 15 months straight.
Overall, the Entertainment & Devices Division posted revenue of $1.62 billion - a decrease of 16% from the previous period - thanks to the Xbox's performance. That marks a loss of $339m, compared to a profit of $210m in the same period last year.
