The Wii's Hidden Sales Win
Hidden inside Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim sales hype is a Wii success
With everybody looking the PC, the Xbox 360 and PS3 for MW3 and Skyrim success stories this week it is easy to overlook the strangely positive reappearance of Wii Party to the Top 10 UK games charts at #10.
With Ninty having had a very bad time of late, facing sales downturns and revenues losses the like of which it hasn't seen in 30 years, the fact that Chart-Track can say the following should raise a smile over at Nintendo Towers:
"Nintendo’s ‘Wii Party’ (+485%) is back in the Top 10 after a 35 week absence thanks to the new hardware bundle ‘Nintendo Wii White Family Edition’."
You read that right... a 485% sales rise due to a new hardware bundle.
So, good news and good planning on Ninty's behalf that it's not announced a bran new Black Wii bundle. Details of which can be found here.
